Here's the first in hopefully many journal entries to help me keep track of projects I'm working on and I guess my general attitude in small time spans.
Moth acrylic painting
-finish adding details to moth's body & wings then seal painting w/modge podge spray
Night drive watercolor painting
-needs final pencil details, actual watercolor + gel pen highlights, inking
Clay moon phases hair clips
-seal w/modge podge spray, glue to bobby pins
Clay owl head
-paint
My biggest obstacles in finishing these fun projects are 1) not having a lamp and relying solely on daylight 2) not having enough time to finish these due to school, work, homework and spending time with my boyfriend and my family and 3) having so many ideas in my head they keep spilling out before previous ones are finished!
Art goals for the upcoming week finish clay moon phases hair clips (will probably finish tomorrow lol)
continue work on moth painting
continue work on night drive painting
continue drawing in sketchbook every day
Once I finish the moth and night drive paintings I'll post them to my gallery.
Random thoughtsI've been wanting to get better at clay work so I can make jewelry and possibly sell it on etsy. I have a lot of fun, whimsical-type designs I think people would love and I may pursue this a little harder once I finish up my current projects. I also want to try my hand at modifying jackets from the thrift stores near me with painting on them, quotes, patches, buttons and pins of bands/songs/movies/shows/etc.
I told my boyfriend that and he stared at the jacket I was wearing (a huge button down denim jacket with 4 pockets and pink stitching) and I was like "What, should I modify this one because it's ugly?" and he said "Yup". I don't wanna mod any of the clothes I have, personally, because I really enjoy the nice outerwear thrift finds I have such as my ugly denim jacket, a nice denim jacket, two flannels (one dark green and black the other red and black), a camo jacket and a weird wooly oversized coat. My style is conflicted between overdecorating or leaving totally plain so I think a trip to the thrift store for a jacket or coat specifically for modifying. Maybe if I could get good enough at modding jackets I could sell them as well. Who knows?
I think sometime next week I'll sit down and do another YouTube video. Probably gonna show my art supplies so people who wonder what I typically use know what's up. Art supplies along with storage tips and stuff like that. This journal is getting pretty long and rambles so I'm gonna wrap this up.
Until next time!
